Six leading Sri Lankan academics have been recognized in the prestigious “Asia’s Top 100 Scientists – 2024” list published by Asian Scientist magazine, Singapore.
The honored scientists are:
- Prof. Punniyamoorthy Ravirajan – Physics, University of Jaffna
- Prof. Suntharalingam Thirukkanesh – Mathematics, Eastern University
- Prof. Jagath Manatunge – University of Moratuwa
- Prof. Imalka Munaweera – University of Sri Jayewardenepura
- Dr. Samawansha Harsheni Tennakoon – University of Sri Jayewardenepura
- Dr. Renuka Attanayake – University of Kelaniya
Recognized for their impactful scientific contributions and academic leadership, these scholars have brought pride to Sri Lanka’s research community and strengthened the country’s presence on the Asian scientific stage.
Since 2016, Asian Scientist Magazine has annually published the Asian Scientist 100 list, celebrating Asia’s most outstanding researchers across diverse scientific fields. Now in its eighth edition, the list honors individuals who, in the previous year, have received national or international awards, made significant scientific discoveries, or demonstrated exceptional leadership in academia or industry.
