Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe Arrested by CID
Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) over allegations of misusing state funds for a personal visit to London during his presidency.
This is the first occasion in Sri Lanka’s political history where a former Executive President has been arrested.
It is reported that the arrested Ranil will be produced before the court.
