The KFC outlet in Vavuniya has been sealed by order of the Vavuniya Magistrateās Court following the discovery of multiple health and sanitation violations.
The action was taken after a joint inspection carried out by the Vavuniya Municipal Councilās Public Health Inspectors and officials from the Regional Medical Officer of Health (MOH) office. During the inspection, authorities reportedly identified several serious hygiene deficiencies at the premises.
Based on the findings, the court ordered the temporary closure of the KFC outlet for a period of 14 days.
Meanwhile, officials also confirmed that eight additional food establishments were sealed on the same day over similar health-related concerns.
Authorities stated that further inspections and regulatory actions will continue to ensure food safety and public health standards in the region.
