The admission of an intermediate-level student at a school in Kokkuvil, Jaffna, has been found to have violated Education Ministry circulars, according to the Jaffna Regional Coordinator of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka, R. Kanagaraj.
He made these remarks in response to a query regarding action taken on a complaint lodged by a parent concerning the student admission process at the school.
According to Kanagaraj, a parent had filed a complaint with the Jaffna Regional Office of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka over the admission of an intermediate-level student to the said school.
Preliminary investigations conducted based on the complaint revealed that the school principal had acted in violation of circulars issued by the Ministry of Education concerning admissions for intermediate-level students.
He further stated that clarification has been sought from the Zonal Education Office regarding the matter, and that further investigations are ongoing.
