Gary Anandasangaree Appointed as Canada’s New Public Safety Minister
Gary Anandasangaree has been appointed as the Public Safety Minister in Canada’s newly formed cabinet.
The new ministerial appointments took place today (May 13) following the recent federal election in which the Liberal Party, led by Mark Carney, emerged victorious.
Anandasangaree, a Sri Lankan Tamil, first entered the Canadian Parliament in 2015 after winning the Scarborough—Rouge Park riding as a candidate from the Liberal Party.
He has been actively involved in addressing youth violence within the Tamil community in Canada. As part of his efforts, he established a youth service center aimed at reducing violence among Tamil youth.
