India Hosts “Press Forward” Media Workshop in Jaffna

The Consulate General of India in Jaffna hosted a vibrant media workshop titled “Press Forward: A Conversation on Journalism, Storytelling, and Technology” at the Jaffna Thiruvalluvar Cultural Centre yesterday (19).

The event brought together over 100 participants, including journalists from the Northern Province and students from the University of Jaffna’s Media Studies Department. The workshop served as a platform for enriching dialogue and professional exchange in the evolving media landscape.

The event was inaugurated by Consul General Shri Sai Murali S., who reaffirmed India’s continued development partnership with the Northern Province. He emphasized that the media dialogue reflects India’s commitment to knowledge exchange, capacity building, and fostering professional growth in the region.

The training sessions featured prominent media professionals: Mr. Sivadhanush and Ms. Kiruthiga Maruthanayagam from Behindwoods, Mr. Vignesh Radhakrishnan from The Hindu, and Mr. Prabhurao Anandan from Polimer News and BBC News தமிழ். Their insights sparked engaging discussions on journalism ethics, storytelling, and the role of technology in today’s media industry.
