International Women’s Day Events Held in Jaffna

International Women’s Day events were held today (08) at the Veerasingam Hall under the leadership of Vasuki Sudhakaran, Director of the Eelam Tamils Women and Children’s Development Organization.

The ceremonial lighting of the traditional lamp was carried out by renowned Eelam Tamil singer and actress Parvathi Amma.

The chief guest of the event was Sujeeva Sivadas, Director of the Northern Province Child Probation Authority, who participated in the program and addressed the gathering.

During the event, several cultural performances and stage dramas were presented by children and women. These performances highlighted issues such as the systematic oppression of women and children and emphasized the importance of protecting their rights. The program aimed to raise awareness and encourage stronger support for the safety and empowerment of women and children in society.
