Sri Lanka’s Newly Appointed Deputy High Commissioner Calls on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

The newly appointed Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Chennai, Dr. Ganesanathan Geathiswaran, paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. M.K. Stalin, recently.

During the meeting, Dr. Geathiswaran highlighted the importance of promoting educational opportunities for Sri Lankan students and formally requested the allocation of scholarships in universities across Tamil Nadu. He noted that enhanced access to higher education would further strengthen people-to-people ties between Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu.

Welcoming the initiative, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed his interest in supporting educational exchanges that would benefit students from Sri Lanka, reaffirming Tamil Nadu’s commitment to regional cooperation through education.
