Teen Killed in Allapiddy Police Shooting Had Used Drugs, Forensic Report Confirms
A 17-year-old boy who was killed in a police shooting in the Allapiddy area of Jaffna had used drugs, according to the Judicial Medical Officer’s report.
The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, when police opened fire on a vehicle in the Allapiddy area after it allegedly ignored police signals to stop. The 17-year-old, who was traveling in the vehicle, died in the shooting, while two others in the vehicle were arrested by police.
The post-mortem examination of the deceased was conducted at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital under the supervision of Judicial Medical Officer Professor Mayurathan.
The forensic report confirmed that the deceased teenager had consumed drugs, and it was also established that one of the two arrested individuals had used drugs as well. Investigations are continuing.
