ITAK and TNPF Agree on Forming Local Government Bodies

M.A. Sumanthiran, the Acting Secretary of the Ilankai Tamil Arasuk Kadchi (ITAK), stated that the formation of administrations in local government bodies will be based on a shared stance between the ITAK and the Tamil National People’s Front (TNPF).

This announcement followed a meeting between M.A Sumanthiran and TNPF leader and Member of Parliament, Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam, to discuss matters related to local governance.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Sumanthiran emphasized that the two parties share similar positions on forming local administrative bodies, which would guide future collaborations in local councils.

Echoing this sentiment, Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam confirmed that there is a common understanding between the two parties to work together in the future, based on shared principles and goals.
