Parliamentary Committee Finds Suspended IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon Guilty, Recommends Removal

The Parliamentary Inquiry Committee investigating suspended Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon has unanimously found him guilty of multiple allegations and recommended his immediate removal from his position as IGP.

According to the Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramanayake, the decision to recommend Tennakoon’s dismissal was made unanimously by the committee after a comprehensive inquiry into misconduct and unlawful actions attributed to him.

The committee’s report, which details the findings and conclusions of the investigation, will be officially tabled in the House, he further stated.
