Toronto police have charged a Sri Lankan social media influencer with four counts of criminal harassment following a series of alleged incidents involving the non-consensual filming of strangers in public places across the city.
Police say 45-year-old Mohamed Askar Mohamed-Razik was arrested on December 10, 2025, and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice on February 4, 2026.
According to the Toronto Police Service (TPS), the charges stem from four separate incidents that occurred between May and September 2025, in which the accused allegedly approached individuals in public spaces, filmed them without consent, and behaved in a confrontational or harassing manner.
In one incident on June 8, 2025, a woman attending an event near Dundas Street West and Dufferin Street noticed a man filming her. Police allege that when she asked him to stop, he became confrontational, continued harassing her, and refused to leave despite being directed to do so by event security. The accused left the scene before officers arrived. No injuries were reported.
A second incident allegedly occurred on August 21, 2025, at around 2:45 p.m. at Union Station, where police say the accused approached a TTC employee, filmed them without consent, and made harassing comments about their ethnicity.
The third incident took place on September 27, 2025, at approximately 3 p.m. at David Pecaut Square. Police allege the accused approached a person waiting in line, continued filming despite repeated requests to stop, and became confrontational.
In another case, dated May 26, 2025, police say the accused approached a female police officer near Yonge Street and Shuter Street, filmed her, and made comments about her appearance.
Toronto police have released an image of the accused and believe there may be additional victims. Investigators are urging anyone who may have experienced a similar incident or has information to contact the Toronto Police Service. Anonymous tips can also be provided through Crime Stoppers.
The charges have not been tested in court.
