Government to Release 672 Acres of Military-Used Land in North and East
The government has taken measures to release 672 acres of state land that were previously under military use in the Northern and Eastern provinces, according to Deputy Minister of Defence Arun Jayasekara.
He made this announcement in Parliament today (23) while responding to a question raised during the session.
Among the lands to be released, 86.24 acres are privately owned, while 586 acres were used by the military for operational purposes.
The Deputy Minister further noted that 34.58 acres of state land in the Eastern Province have already been released as part of this process.
