Tamil Nadu Signs MoU with Samvardhana Motherson for $1.15 billion Dollar Investment
The Government of Tamil Nadu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd., along with its European and UK-based joint venture companies, for an investment of approximately $1.15 billion USD (₹11,000 crore INR) in Tamil Nadu.
The investment is expected to create employment opportunities for around 7,000 people across a range of sectors, including design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly and logistics.
The MoU was signed and exchanged in London by Barry Painter, Global Head – Marketing and Communications, Samvardhana Motherson International Group, and Deepak Jacob, IAS, Managing Director of Guidance, Government of Tamil Nadu.
Thiru. Kumaran Periyasamy, IFS, High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom, along with representatives of Samvardhana Motherson and senior officials from the Government of Tamil Nadu, attended the signing ceremony.
The agreement marks a significant step in strengthening industrial investment and employment opportunities in Tamil Nadu, particularly across advanced manufacturing and related sectors.
